Topic: Finding Expensive Gaps in Commercial Property Insurance Coverages
The passionate utterance of this word is usually the precursor to the acquisition of wisdom, often at considerable personal cost. A common example of such a wisdom-acquiring event would be when something really bad happens and a business owner discovers that his/her insurance excludes or otherwise does not cover that.
Too often, a business owner purchases and pays for insurance based on the price rather than what’s covered in the event of calamity. Lisette Silverman is a commercial insurance broker, and will present us with examples of when insured property owners were not adequately insured for the event that actually happened, compared with when they were. She will reveal coverages that are often overlooked in the effort to minimize cost.
Rubbing salt into the wound, many then-wiser property owners ended up learning that being adequately insured for all that could possibly happen would not have spent much more for the more thorough coverages. We will learn that inviting clients to submit to an insurance review or second opinion may result in protections that could mean the difference between orderly recovery from calamity, and business ruin. You may become a hero for having encouraged the insurance review.
Come and acquire wisdom from Lisette without the “Oops!”, and bring another commercial real estate professional.
